One Writer, Three Worlds: Introducing Morphic
Why I split my writing into leadership, music, and trauma ... and why Morphic is the space for everything else.
The modern internet is designed for specialists.
It wants you to be exactly one thing. If you are a cybersecurity leader, the algorithm wants you to post about risk frameworks and compliance until the heat death of the universe. If you are a musician, it wants track IDs and studio gear. If you are an advocate, it wants raw vulnerability.
But humans are not algorithms. We are messy, overlapping systems.
For a long time, I tried to force these distinct parts of myself into a single feed on Blogger.com. I would post a technical deep dive on cybersecurity decision-making, followed immediately by a raw reflection on parental alienation, followed by a snippet of a new techno track I wrote in the studio.
The result wasn’t clarity; it was whiplash. The CISO didn’t know why I was talking about basslines. The parent navigating estrangement didn’t care about corporate risk registers.
I realized I was serving everyone poorly by trying to be everything at once.
So, I did what any systems thinker would do. I refactored the architecture. I separated the signals to honor the audience.
This is the new map of my digital world, and an explanation of why this specific space… Morphic… might be the most important one of all.
The Three Pillars of Clarity
I have established three distinct publications. Each has its own lane, its own tone, and its own promise to the reader.
1. The Professional Signal: First Order This is the “Work” brain. It is pragmatic, no-fluff writing for CISOs, security engineers, and executives. We talk about leadership in complex technical environments. We talk about “first-order” consequences... the immediate results of decisions.
First Order - Leadership, cybersecurity, and decision-making.
2. The Personal Signal: Unbroken Bond This is the “Heart” brain. It is a contemplative, inward-facing space exploring estrangement, parental alienation, and ambiguous loss. This work is grounded in lived experience, written with restraint and dignity. It is for those navigating the heavy silence of family separation.
Unbroken Bond - Estrangement, parental alienation, and ambiguous loss.
3. The Creative Signal: ZenOne Music This is the “Pulse.” It focuses on the creative process behind electronic music production, sound design, and artistic identity. It is for the producers, the DJs, and the listeners who want to know how the sausage is made (or in this case, how the kick drum is synthesized).
ZenOne Music - Process notes, reflections, and long-form writing about electronic music.
So, What is Morphic?
If those three publications are the specialized rooms of my house, Morphic is the living room. It is the hallway. It is the laboratory in the basement.
Morphic is the container for everything that refuses to fit into a neat box.
Life does not adhere to a single category. The way we think about AI intersects with how we think about cooking. The way we travel informs how we view corporate culture. The “Presence Tax” of return-to-office mandates (a recent topic here) is a leadership issue, yes, but it is also an anthropological one, a psychological one, and a financial one.
It didn’t fit in First Order because it was too human. It didn’t fit in Unbroken Bond because it was too corporate. It didn’t fit in ZenOne because it wasn’t set to a 4/4 beat.
So it lives here.
The “Morphic” Philosophy
The word “morphic” implies shape-shifting. It implies a capability to change form while retaining substance.
That is the goal of this publication.
Here, we will explore the systems-level thinking that underpins everything else. We will look at 2026 trends through a lens that is slightly askew. We will experiment with “Lab Notebook” style analysis of tech, “Digital Living Room” sensory reviews of travel and food, and “Curator” style collections of the absurd and the beautiful.
This is where I get to be a human being rather than a “brand.”
Expect the unexpected. One week we might be dissecting the “Dead Internet Theory” and the next we might be reviewing a jazz bar in Kyoto or discussing the philosophical implications of “dumb phones” in the C-Suite.
Why You Should Stay
If you are here, it is likely because you enjoy the way I think, regardless of what I am thinking about.
You are here for the connection between the unseen dots.
If you want pure security leadership, go to First Order. If you need support for estrangement, go to Unbroken Bond. If you want beats, go to ZenOne.
But if you want to see how a writer, technologist, and artist navigates the weird, glitchy, beautiful complexity of the modern world... stay here.
This is the signal without the filter. This is the re-humanization protocol. This is Morphic.
